Boxvirt is an independent collection of guides and tools for people running their own infrastructure. Its focus is Proxmox, networking, storage, and self-hosted applications.
What the site is for
A useful guide explains why a configuration exists, what it assumes, and how to check the result. A useful calculator shows its model and limitations. Together they help turn a task into a plan you can understand and maintain.
How content is prepared
Articles use primary documentation for technical references and identify version-specific scope where relevant. The WordPress archive is being rebuilt with AI-assisted drafting and editing; source checks, substantive examples, and an explicit review status accompany that work. AI assistance is not evidence that a procedure has been run. Rewritten material is reviewed for accuracy, unnecessary exposure, and missing recovery steps. Documentation research and a completed practical test are different forms of evidence; the site should make that distinction visible.
Review status
A page labelled as an editorial draft is still awaiting technical validation. It does not claim that the procedure has been executed in a matching lab. Historical version guides retain their version scope rather than presenting an old installation as the newest release.
Corrections and maintenance
Infrastructure software changes. Sources and review dates help readers assess an article against their own release. When a procedure changes materially, the article should record the revision and update affected examples and internal links together.
Tools and data
The current calculators run locally in the browser and do not submit the supplied addresses or disk configuration to an application backend. They provide planning results, not a substitute for inspecting the actual network or storage system.
Site analytics
We use self-hosted Umami analytics to count page views and referring sites. The tracker does not set analytics cookies. URL query strings and fragments are excluded, Do Not Track is respected, and calculator inputs are not sent to analytics. Session replay is disabled.
